This post is a little out of the “norm” as these are not recent acquisitions. For a long time I had a wallet dedicated to being a vault of photography on Tezos, however without me sharing this wallet often I realized it had become just like a hidden folder. Art imo should not be hidden, it should be displayed with pride so I transferred all tokens to my main wallet which is viewed more often. For this edition of Recent Acquisitions, I’m going to do some throwbacks to Photography pieces I collected “back in the day”. While some artists are no longer active, the art endures.
Minted in February 2022 on H=N I collected this piece on secondary the following month after a fast sell out. Slowtrees (Elena Kuzmicheva) has not been active for about a year, however there is still some work on primary. We may never know if Elena will return or receive any tezos from sales, but as I said before the art endures and this collection of hauntingly beautiful black and white images should be featured in any respectable collectors wallet.

Minted in December 2021, this 1/1 35mm Film collection features as the artist states “Dark moody photography. With a dark moody teen.” taken as the sun was setting, giving that perfect mix of long exposure and ICM (intentional camera movement) to produce some truly special frames. While none are listed from the collection, Maybe an offer would be accepted at the right price (wink).

This piece hits on so many levels, the chair, the arching back of the figure, the covered head, the flowers on the piano, everything about it screams “wow”. Minted in March 2022 this collab is listed at over 1k Tezos now, a healthy but very acceptable price for this iconic work.

Minted in March 2022 into the Tangible Memories collection on objkt. Oak is one of those photographers that has the ability to notice little moments that many of us would not even have a second take on, and capture them perfectly. Timing is everything, and Oak can read the clock. While the collection has not been added to since 2022, maybe this post will give Oak some inspiration to mint another banger!

First minting on H=N in April 2022, Bezina has been a steady and recognizable figure in the Tezos art scene. Using various mixed media techniques with photography at it’s core, their images can be identified instantly, a feat that can be hard to pull off by photographers. Often featuring self portraits using long exposures to give that signature effect we all love.
