ACTZ

An open call to emerging artists on Tezos

Every month, ACTZ commissions 20 artists to create original 1/1 artworks and mint them as NFTs on the Tezos blockchain. Artists can submit their portfolio through monthly open calls. Selected artists are asked to mint their creations then list them via auction with a 50 XTZ reserve. ACTZ curators place the opening bid and promote the auction on social media. Each month, special guest curators are invited to participate. Curators receive funding to place auction bids, and if successful, the artwork is added to their collection.

Theme:
The Theme for July is Vestige

A vestige is something left behind. It might be a physical trace, a memory, a scar, a fragment, or an echo of something that once was. It is evidence of presence, change, survival, or loss—a reminder that even when something disappears, it rarely vanishes completely.

This exhibition invites artists to explore what remains. Vestige can be interpreted through personal histories, family heirlooms, abandoned places, fading traditions, environmental change, digital footprints, forgotten stories, or the marks left by time on people and objects. It may speak to resilience as much as absence, preservation as much as decay.

To leave a vestige is not to fail at permanence. It is a different kind of permanence entirely—one that embraces transformation rather than resisting it. A weathered surface, a worn photograph, a discarded object, or a lingering memory all carry traces of lives, events, and moments that continue to shape the present.

In a world that constantly replaces the old with the new, vestiges remind us that value can be found in what endures through change. They ask us to pause and look closely at the fragments that remain, recognizing that every mark, every absence, and every remnant tells a story.

Artists are encouraged to interpret Vestige in whatever way resonates with their own practice. Whether literal or symbolic, intimate or expansive, your work might examine what is inherited, what is remembered, what is forgotten, or what continues to exist long after its original form has changed.

Artwork:
Commissioned art MUST be new work, that has not been minted or sold before. Final artwork should be minted as a 1/1 (single edition) NFT on the tezos blockchain.

Deadlines:
As some mediums can take longer to produce than others deadlines are flexible, however, we would prefer the artwork to be completed within 1 month of being commissioned.

Gallery:
The selected artists will be featured in the ACTZ Gallery on objkt.com. Minting instructions will be provided.
