This month has kept me busy, so I have not done a huge amount of collecting but I still managed to secure some epic work in my wallet. Some of these included pieces from ACTZ open calls which are always awesome, this month was the Album Cover edition and the artists killed it.

“fig. 04” by resatio

Resatio just launched a new collection called Unnatural History where they ask collectors to suggest emojis which are included in the next wave of artwork added to the collection. This concept jumped out to me, It’s always special when an artist includes collectors in their process. In total there will be 35 pieces in the collection and I’m hyped to see what they create from my emoji selections 🪞🏀🦔🏴‍☠️⚗️.

“The Peacock That Wasn’t There” by Elfearsfoxsox

I minted this piece from a open edition by Beth, after which she asked me “do you see the Peacock?” I can’t lie, I still don’t see it. I do however, see a whole lot of Peacock vibes, from the royal colour scheme to the flowers which remind me of the “eyes” on a Peacocks tail. If I see the bird or not, It’s still a wonderful piece I’m glad to add to my collection.

“Mourning” by Malicious Sheep

I was scrolling through Mal’s page on objkt and this piece stopped me in my tracks. Wing patterns and shapes have always amazed me, ever since I went to the Christchurch Museum and looked through all those draws with thousands of Butterflies and Moths pinned into place. As a nature lover, I love to check Malicious Sheep’s page now and then, just to relax and soak in the vibes, I advise you do the same.

“This is Paradise” by CobwebSaints

I loved the words added to this mint by Saints
“We often miss the beauty in simplicity
And get lost in a life of complexity
There is another way.”
It’s something I reflect on a lot, do we as humans make things more complicated than they need to be sometimes? This glitched out take on “A fairy moon and a lonely shore” seems like a perfect visual for this thought.

“Recursive Vision” by Sasha Chudo

Chudo was one of the selected artists for the March open call for ACTZ – Album Cover edition. While one of our guests (JBurn) selected them, I just had to drop a bid on this auction. From the noise filled visuals to the lo-fi background sound this piece was a instant fav.
